Start with a thorough trademark search to ensure your desired mark is unique and not already registered in Indonesia.
Submit your application to DGIP with classification of goods/services, intent to use, and priority claims if applicable.
DGIP reviews the application for completeness and compliance with formal requirements.
If any objections or conflicts with existing trademarks arise, a response must be filed to continue the process.
Once approved, the trademark is published in the Indonesian Trademark Official Gazette to allow third-party objections.
A 2-month period allows third parties to file oppositions. If no objections are filed, the process continues smoothly.
After the opposition period, DGIP issues the Trademark Registration Certificate. Official fees are approximately IDR 2,000,000 per class.

Trademarks are valid for 10 years and must be renewed every 10 years to remain enforceable.
To file a trademark application in Indonesia, you must provide details about the classification of goods or services for which the mark will be used. If you have filed a trademark in another country and wish to claim priority, include the application number and filing date from that jurisdiction.
The Indonesian trademark registration process typically takes 12–18 months, depending on objections and substantive examination. Once approved, the mark is published in the Official Trademark Gazette for a 2-month opposition period.
